Clear aligners in Barcelona
Clear aligners and a treatment plan tailored to your mouth. At CHC, we use Angel Aligners and assess whether this approach is suitable for your needs.
What are clear aligners?
Clear aligners are a series of custom-made removable trays that gradually move your teeth. You change them according to your orthodontist’s instructions. They are discreet, although some cases need small tooth-coloured resin attachments bonded to the teeth or other additional components.
Who can have aligner treatment?
Aligners can treat crowding, gaps, selected crossbites, open bites or deep bites, and some tooth movement after previous orthodontic treatment. An individual assessment establishes whether they are appropriate.
Severe malocclusions or complex jaw discrepancies may require other approaches. We explain the achievable goals and the limitations of each option.

Treatment step by step
1. Consultation and diagnosis
We examine your teeth, bite and gums and take records with an intraoral scanner where appropriate. We explain which corrections are possible and the estimated timescale.
2. Digital 3D planning
Tooth movements are planned before treatment begins. The simulation helps you understand the intended result, but it is not an exact guarantee: the response of your teeth may require adjustments.
3. Custom-made aligners
A numbered series is made for you. Change trays in the prescribed order and at the intervals advised, and follow your orthodontist’s daily wear instructions.
4. Reviews and monitoring
Reviews are often scheduled around every six to eight weeks, with timing adapted to your case. We check the fit, tooth movement, bite, and health of your teeth and gums.
5. Retention
After active treatment, wear your retainers as directed. Retention and reviews form part of long-term care.
Everyday life with aligners
A discreet option
The transparent material fits over your teeth, although trays and attachments may be noticeable close up.
Removable for meals and cleaning
Take aligners out to eat and brush. This makes cleaning more straightforward than with a fixed appliance, but meeting the prescribed wear time is essential.
Appointments adapted to your needs
Reviews help check progress and resolve fit problems. The same appointment schedule will not suit every patient.
Adjustment and comfort
Pressure or irritation may occur when starting or changing trays. Contact the team if you develop a sore, severe pain or discomfort that persists.
Understanding your treatment plan
The digital simulation shows the intended movements and supports discussion of your plan. It does not replace clinical monitoring.
Common questions
Do clear aligners hurt?
You may feel pressure or discomfort during the first few days after changing trays. The intensity and duration vary. Contact us if pain is severe, a sore develops or symptoms do not improve.
Can I drink coffee or tea with my aligners in?
Remove them for coffee, tea and other drinks apart from water. This helps avoid staining the material. Follow the cleaning and wear instructions given by your orthodontist.
What if I lose or break an aligner?
Contact us promptly. Depending on your treatment stage, we will advise whether to move to the next tray or arrange a replacement. Do not change the schedule yourself, and keep previous trays until the team advises that they are no longer needed.
Do aligners work as well as fixed braces?
Both systems can treat alignment and bite problems, but they are not interchangeable in every case. The choice depends on the required movements, gum health and your ability to follow the wear schedule.
At what age can treatment start?
Age alone does not decide suitability. For children and teenagers, we assess dental development and growth. For adults, we check the teeth, gums and supporting bone. The orthodontic assessment establishes the appropriate timing.
Will I need retainers afterwards?
Yes. Teeth can change position after active treatment, so retention is part of orthodontic care. Fixed or removable retainers may be prescribed. We explain how to wear, clean and maintain them.
