A missing tooth can affect chewing, confidence and the way neighbouring teeth meet. A dental implant is one replacement option: a fixture in the jaw supports a crown, bridge or denture. The visible tooth and the implant underneath are separate parts, which matters when comparing prices.
Understanding the price per tooth
An advertised implant price may cover only the surgical fixture. A complete estimate should identify the examination, necessary imaging, extraction, grafting, implant, connector or abutment, temporary tooth, final crown and follow-up. Not every case needs every item. A front tooth with demanding gum aesthetics may require a different plan from a back tooth with adequate bone.
There is no single accurate price for an unseen mouth. Ask for an itemised written estimate after assessment, including what would change the cost. At CHC Clínica Dental Barcelona, the useful starting point is the treatment you need, rather than a headline price that leaves essential stages out.
Implants when you have bone loss
Bone needs to support an implant in a position that allows a usable, cleanable tooth. There is no universal minimum measurement suitable for every site: width, height, bone quality, gum tissue, nearby nerves and the sinus all matter. Imaging, sometimes including a justified three-dimensional scan, helps plan safely.
Bone loss does not automatically rule out implants. Options may include grafting or a different implant or prosthetic design. In some mouths, the additional surgery, risk or cost makes another replacement preferable. An implant does not automatically regrow all lost jawbone or restore the original facial contours.

Saving a cracked or non-vital tooth
A tooth with a damaged nerve is not automatically beyond saving. Root canal treatment and an appropriate restoration may be possible when the root, gum support and remaining structure are suitable. A deep fracture extending into the root or an unrestorable tooth may lead to extraction. This decision should follow diagnosis, not the assumption that implants are always better than natural teeth.
Alternatives and facial appearance
A bridge, removable partial denture or, in selected situations, accepting a space may be reasonable. A bonded bridge can preserve adjacent teeth in suitable cases; other bridges require preparation. Compare comfort, maintenance, effects on neighbouring teeth and future repairs, not only initial cost.
Replacing extensive tooth loss can improve lip support and chewing, but a single implant is not a facial-rejuvenation procedure. The shape and position of the final restoration influence the result.
An assessment at CHC can help you compare tooth preservation, implants and other options with a clear understanding of the trade-offs.
